With its magnificent historic buildings, generous recreation and entertainment facilities, and a picturesque riverine setting, Corowa’s socially and economically prosperous history is writ large within its town centre. However, signs of decline are beginning to show within some of these buildings and spaces (in order for Corowa to enjoy an exciting and thriving future). The Council and the community need to partner together to enhance and build on town strengths. 

This Urban Design Framework prepared by AXOS Urban and Echelon Planning deals with the area generally bound by Federation Avenue, Victoria Street, Edward Street and the Murray River, but also recognises that the town centres do not operate in isolation from its wider surroundings. Linkages to features within the remainder of the town and the wider region are important to ensure the town centre supports these and vice versa.
